Finally, the day has here. On November 24 and 25, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction live will take place at the Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Among the celebrities that will be up for auction are Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Glenn Maxwell, Jos Buttler, and Phil Salt. The Rajasthan Royals have the smallest purse, INR 41 crore, while the Punjab Kings have the largest, INR 110.5 crore.
All 10 IPL teams are competing to fill their roasters, which can include a maximum of 25 players and a minimum of 18 players. A total of 577 people are involved.
There are 201 spots available across all franchises following the retention of 46 players on October 31, 2024.
The Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders were only allowed to keep a maximum of six players before the auction, therefore they are not eligible for a right-to-match card.
Nonetheless, an RTM option is offered by each of the eight surviving teams. Since the Mumbai Indians have kept five capped players from the auction, they can only use the RTM option for an uncapped player.
The IPL 2025 Auction will start at 3:30 PM IST on Sunday and Monday.
The Abady Al-Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will host the IPL 2025 auction.
