Within the following 24 hours, Cyclone Fengal is expected to get stronger. By the morning of the 30th, it is anticipated to shift north-northwest and cross between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram. A top IMD official stated that rain is expected to fall in most parts of Tamil Nadu during the course of the next two to three days due to the effect of this system.

With cyclone Fengal building over the Bay of Bengal and heavy rains predicted, the Puducherry government has ordered that all schools and colleges in the union territory will be closed on November 29 and 30. Due to the rain, all schools and colleges in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions would be closed for two days starting on Friday, Home Minister A Namassivayam said reporters. Additionally, all government-aided and privately run schools would be shut down.

As Cyclone Fengal develops in the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Navy has launched a comprehensive disaster response plan. Additionally, the officials told the fishermen to wait until November 31 before going out to sea.
