Mel Gibson Says Malibu Home gets Burned in LA Wildfires

Mel Gibson disclosed that wildfires in Los Angeles burned his house while he was filming Joe Rogan’s podcast. The Oscar-winning movie star criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for the situation and claimed that the wildfires had “completely toasted” his Malibu property.

Tens of thousands of citizens have had to evacuate as the wildfires destroyed hundreds of buildings and claimed at least ten lives. Authorities have cautioned that strong winds could worsen the wildfires, and several celebrities have shared how they lost their properties.

Gibson said that knowing his neighborhood was “on fire” made him feel “ill at ease” while he traveled to Austin, Texas, to appear as a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Gibson stated, “It’s kind of devastating, it’s emotional,” on Elizabeth Vargas Reports on NewsNation.
“I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff because it’s all in cinders.”
The Braveheart star claimed that he had been living on his property for almost 15 years and that some of his neighbors’ houses, including actor Ed Harris’s, were “gone.”
Mel Gibson said that his family was safe since they had complied with the evacuation order.
Gibson attacked the California governor in the Rogan podcast, claiming that despite Newsom’s claims that he was “going to take care of the forests,” he “didn’t do anything.”

“I think all our tax dollars probably went for Gavin’s hair gel,” claimed the actor.

The most severe wildfires in Los Angeles’ history have burned 31,000 acres (12,500 hectares) of land and forced 180,000 residents to evacuate. There are currently five active wildfires in the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst, and Lidia. According to California fire director David Acuna, 10,000 buildings were probably destroyed, he told Radio 4’s Today program. Additionally, he cautioned that winds in the days ahead can cause more damage in the region.

According to Republican President-elect Donald Trump, “one of the best and most beautiful” sections of the United States is “burning down to the ground” and he has called for Democratic Newsom to step down for his management of the issue.
State officials were “throwing everything at our disposal” to protect neighborhoods, according to Newsom, who has defended the approach.

According to the governor’s spokesperson, Newsom focused on providing firemen with resources and protecting people. He accused Trump of politicizing the tragedy. Following California’s “most widespread, devastating fire,” President Joe Biden promised additional government resources to support the state.

What has Trump Claimed?

The governor “refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water” to extinguish the fires, according to a social media statement made by Trump on Wednesday.
However, the particular declaration he refers to doesn’t seem to exist.
“There is no such document as the water restoration declaration – that is pure fiction,” the governor’s press office responded in a statement.
We looked for this document as well, but we couldn’t find it.
In the past, Newsom has resisted attempts to divert additional water to southern California.
Among these is a presidential memorandum from 2020 in which Trump aimed to redirect water from Northern California to southern farms.
