“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links.” After just 10 episodes, audiences are enamored with Taylor Sheridan’s Landman, which debuted on Paramount+ in late 2024. Landman Season 2 tells the tale of powerful characters in the world of oil rigs in west Texas, interspersed with scenes of on-site devastation, tornadoes, and drug cartels. The cast of the show also includes well-known actors Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, and Billy Bob Thornton.

The question of whether a second season will be produced is raised by the release of the season finale, “The Crumbs of Hope,” on Sunday, January 12. Here is what we currently know. There will be spoilers.

Has Landman been renewed for Season 2?

Although there hasn’t been a renewal officially, it appears likely that one will occur. Yellowstone was a great hit for Sheridan, and it appears that Paramount thinks highly of his work. “I’ve already completed the first season and I’m excited for us to start the second, which will be at the beginning of next year,” Moore said in a May 2024 interview while promoting The Substance, seemingly confirming the existence of a second season.

When Larter was questioned about a second season in an ELLE interview, the following exchange resulted:

Is there a schedule for production for the upcoming season?

Yes, we do. [Silence.]

Thus, “soon.”

[Giggles.] I am aware. That’s right. “Just announce it!” I say.

However, the formal confirmation has not yet been received.

What would Landman season 2 be about?

Boomtown, a well-known podcast that offers “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires that are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics,” served as the basis for the first season.

Thornton portrays Tommy Norris, an oil firm crisis manager. Larter portrays Tommy’s former spouse, Angela, with whom he has two kids, Cooper and Ainsley. Moore and Hamm portray Cami Miller and Monty Miller, another influential couple in the oil sector. There is still more drama to be discovered between the competing oil factions, but the final season culminates with a confrontation with the local cartel.

Landman Season 2 cast

There are no formal cast announcements because season two has not yet been announced. However, season two would probably include regulars James Jordan, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, Andy Garcia, Michael Peña, and Paulina Chávez, along with the primary ensemble of Thornton, Moore, Hamm, and Michelle Rudolph as Ainsley and Jacob Lofland as Cooper.

In an interview with ELLE, Larter expressed her excitement at playing Angela again and her thoughts on the character’s unrepentant trophy wife demeanor.

According to Larter, she is a complete spitfire, heading to the bar because she wants attention, as you can tell. She enjoys having a good time. She doesn’t consider it a nasty word. Tommy truly loves her for who she is, as you can tell after that.

She went on to say, “She views her work as going to the gym and looking fantastic. However, you are also witnessing the reversal of a trophy wife, who has endured all of this and is returning to her proper place.

Larter continued, “I want to show a woman’s body and sexuality, as well as all of her sides.” Finding and accepting that has been significant because it differs greatly from who I am in my daily life. But [Angela] is a woman I know. Additionally, I kind of wish I had been more like her in my early twenties.

Landman Season 2 seems like a Certainty

The success of Paramount+ as a streaming service has been largely attributed to showrunner Taylor Sheridan during the past few years.

Due to the success of his 2018 series Yellowstone, two prequel series based on previous Dutton family incarnations—1883 and 1923—were produced. In addition to Sheridan’s Western universe, he has created crime shows such as Mayor of Kingstown, which starred Sylvester Stallone in his first major television appearance and starred Jeremy Renner and Tulsa King. As a result, Sheridan has amassed a devoted fan base by using a similar format with a cast full of celebrities and themes of greed.

According to Variety and the streaming service, his most recent series, Landman, launched in November 2024 and had 14.6 million viewers in its first week. The show, which was inspired by the Boomtown documentary podcast, focuses on West Texas’s contemporary oil industry. Billy Bob Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for the oil giant M-Tex. He is sent by his CEO boss, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), to make sure everything is running smoothly, but it’s not an easy job.

I think it’s a risky business if you’re in that world. You are aware of the danger. In this, my character clearly ended up taking on more mundane tasks,” Thornton told Deadline. Since he is a true fixer, there is always an issue to resolve. You become fixated on achieving achievement.

Given the enormous success of the show, viewers may be curious about the future of other characters as well as Tommy’s further ascent through the oil sector.

Here is all we currently know about Landman’s second season.
